Duck hunting in California goes back several generations. It is the most highly managed animals we have here. There are many public waterfowl hunting areas in California which are relatively easy to get into, with the exception of opening day. One of these is Mendota Wildlife area which is where San Joaquin Guide Service takes clients. We offer several different ways to help hunters from fully guided hunting out of a boat blind with dog and 3 people maximum, to partially guided hunts where guide gets clients to these hard to reach areas, such as islands, with jet boat. Your guide will make sure you have a successful, low stress day. This is a very popular choice for those groups of hunters with large spreads and many hunters, and is great for those people new to the area not wanting to waste their time hunting in unproductive spots. We will discuss with you what you are looking for and try to make it happen.

The Central California Duck Hunting Guide
We also offer a very unique duck hunting experience where we take a very limited amount of hunters where we mostly jump shoot, but sometimes call in ducks while hunting out of a kayak. The guide does 90% of the rowing and clients get to sit back and enjoy the beautiful San Joaquin River. Depending on the amount of time client would like to spend affects distance traveled on the river. Most people believe the views are worth the trip alone.
